Our most recent guests wrote to us about the highlights of their stay:
“Absolutely wonderful. Peaceful, beautiful and great fun – with the archery that you arranged for us. The foldaway pool table was greatly appreciated by the boys! (or should I say old men!) That such a large and grand house was so welcoming, homely. Every bedroom was a delight and the Kitchen and Library really formed the heart of the house. The kitchen was very well stocked with equipment and 2 fridges and dishwashers was a godsend.” (Nikki Allen; March 2008)

“Michael and Julian's Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebration: We said we would be back (see April 05) and what better excuse to fulfil that promise? The variety of rooms allows for relaxing with papers, games or TV; although we did make the most of the Rugby World Cup it could have started earlier or later to allow uninterrupted gold-themed celebrations on Saturday! This was a splendid place in which to gather our family together for our special anniversary. Happiness and relaxation abounded.” (The Morgans of Ludlow, Richmond and Furzedown; October 2007)
“There was no better way to spend my 40th birthday than with all my close friends, plenty of wine and fabulous food (£50 for the rib roast Sat night!) CP is such a warm inviting home and we all settled into the kitchen and library immediately and there were no fights over the bedrooms. Thank you very much for all the little touches and for letting us be able to enjoy this wonderful home.” (Stephanie Glasspool; October 2007)
“As a family was have had a wonderful weekend; this house is so full of warmth, each one of us will take a memory home and treasure. Thank you.” (Cathy & Phil Gill; Swindon; October 2007)

“It was as we remembered – superb – wonderful house and holiday.” “Great family holiday in beautiful surroundings – well worth a second visit for some of us – last visit late 2003.” “Mum and I had a wonderful week’s holiday with our relatives at Cossington Park. Very comfortable house and we all had a great time – the weather was glorious too!” “Had a fantastic week in a beautiful house in a lovely part of the country. Thank you!” (Geoff & Jackie Collett and mostly the older relatives, Pam Gomer, Barbara Coldwell, Gary Collett & Karen Jonsson; September 2007)
“The house welcomed us in – we (all 12) arrived to it like a big, warm embrace. It has been our comfort and our party host: the theatre of our friendship and our imagination. The house is beyond beauty; but it is beautiful, excellently well appointed and very, very comfortable. We’ve had the time of our lives. Thank you to the family (all generations) and to the staff.” (Cathy Lesurf; W Bridgford, Notts; August 2007)
“My 80th birthday – what a surprise,
I really could scarcely believe my eyes.
A weekend away in the country – expected
But Cossington Park was the one they selected.
My family all had the last laugh on me
To see my surprise filled them all with great glee.
What a beautiful house
And contents galore,
It’s worth reaching 80 with this in store.
So I’ll thank you so much for this weekend forever
(It’s a pity you can’t control our weather).”
(Jean Knowles, Jan & Steve James, Pete, Sophie & Mike, Jane & Irene, Wendy & Brian, Katie & Mark; Aldershot, Croydon, Finchampstead, Chertsey, Swindon; August 2007)
“A lovely week with all three generations appreciative of the house and garden. This is the first occasion for all eleven of us to be on holiday together – it could not have happened in a more splendid setting. The freedom of the house and garden provided us all with much interest and relaxation. The only blemish was the abysmal weather but even that did not prevent our enjoyment. Many thanks for such happy memories.” (Burton/Colclough; August 2007)
“A lovely week had by all – helped by the wonderful summer weather. We enjoyed the house and garden so much, and this marvellous house made this a very special week for us all to be together exceeding all our expectations. We will all look back on our time here with such fond memories of happy days – thank you.” (Gage/Hallsworth families plus husbands, wives, four children and dogs – one visiting Great Grandma (aged 96), Isla, 4.5 months, Lily 16 months, Harry 3 and Annabel 5; August 2007)
“A lovely week. Our first visit. House is charming, a bygone era, warm and full of history and nostaligia. Crown Inn, Red Tile, were both excellent for dinner. Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Caves and Longleat were great days out. Great having a family breakfast sitting around the farmhouse table.” (The Castle Family: Mark, Ann, Terry, Pat, Charlotte, Jack & Melissa; Ascot, Berkshire; July 2007)
“To enter Cossington Park is to enter another world! There is so much history here; so much of a family’s past recorded in photographs, books, paintings and historical documents; and an enduring feeling that you are somehow being drawn back into a bygone era. Cossington reminds you that sometimes you need to slow down a little – a feeling I, for one, want to take back home with me! I would love to be locked inside all alone, so that I could explore the books – an amazing collection!” “Each room is so different and so full of character. Curtains and bed linen are all of such quality and you get more white towels than in a five-star hotel.” “We loved: our two dinners cooked for us here by Kate; Wells Cathedral; Walking in the Quantock Hills; West Quantoxhead beach – a haven of discovery for a five-year old (and his parents); the morning greetings from a resident pheasant who sat on the garden wall!” “Thank you to everyone who made it all happen.” (Francoise, Peter, Sophi, Alan and Scott (age 5); Walton-on-Thames and Dorking, Surrey; July 2007)
