Park Cottage Access Statement

The ground floor bedroom has a zip and link bed that can be configured as two singles or a double. The bed is 25 inches or 635 mm high and there is no clear space under the bed. The room has a substantial upright armchair.

To the first floor there are 15 stairs of 7.2 inches or 180mm in height. Stairs are 32 inches or 810 mm wide. The bath in the first floor bathroom is 610mm or 24 inches in height to the lip.

The decked terrace is accessible through folding French windows stretching the full width of the sitting room area. The decking is on the same level as the kitchen with a small lip housing the window runners.

The garden is accessible via a concrete sloped ramp and it has a handrail 39.5 inches or 1 metre high.The ramp is 56.5 inches or 1440mm wide. At the top of the ramp a gate to the right allows access to the greater the walled garden and the greater estate. Please see the separate Access to Gardens document in the Guest Information File.

The two bedrooms and upstairs bathroom are accessed via a robust cottage staircase with wooden handrails.

Cossington Park

For those who are part of a greater party using both properties there is a step free route from the side door of the cottage to back door of Park House via the Park House garden gate, there are two ramps on the route and there are no steps into Park House. Additional Information

Evacuation of the premises in the case of fire or other emergencies is the responsibility of the leader of the guest party who should familiarise him/herself with the fire provisions displayed in the Kitchen. The house is fitted with smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, fire blanket and torches are provided for emergency use. The house is non-smoking.

Pets

Pets and service dogs are welcome if arranged in advance.

Local Facilities

There is a convenience store in Woolavington (the next village). Turn right at the triangle in Cossington, follow the main village road all the way round the sharp left bend and carry on until you come to a Tjunction. Turn right onto Woolavington Hill and you will see the shop. It is open until 10.00 pm.

There are no leisure facilities on-site at Cossington Park but there are many facilities nearby described in our Guest Information File and on the website.

The nearest banks and building societies are in Bridgwater, where there are branches of NatWest, Lloyds, Barclays, Santander, Nationwide, Birmingham Midshires and HSBC.

The nearest hospital and casualty unit is Taunton, Musgrove Park Hospital, 01823 333444.

The local police station is in Bridgwater, 01934 635252.

Like so many villages, Cossington sadly lost its post office recently. The nearest ones now are in the Co-op
Woolavington or Middle Street, Puriton.
